Ramesh Srivats- Marketing Guru (@rameshsrivats)

My video chat with Ramesh Srivats, amongst the smartest people i have met... Ramesh is a "master of twitter" with +40,000 followers of his "lets put da" philosphy... I am one of them!  Here he expounds how marketing has changed  over the last couple of decades... " there is a reason why Apple and Google are the hottest brands today, as compared to the mass-media era when the Pepsis and the Cokes were the IN brands"... Ramesh has his own Media company- TenTenTen which creates cool apps that help cool brands connect with cool customers.

With an IIT/IIM (Madras, BTech Computer Science, IIT JEE all india rank #53) bluechip pedigree, Ramesh is advertising professional who’s made a fine art  of the usage of puns on Twitter, Ramesh's Twitter stream has won the Best Indi Microblog award, and he captures his original one-liners in ‘Shortputs’, an extension of his favourite phrase “Let’s put, Da”, a phrase he says helped him get through college unscathed. These ‘shortputs’ give you a glimpse at how his mind works, of how he captures the zeitgeist in just 140 characters.

Ramesh is best followed on twitter  and you can read more about him in this interview  or find him on Ramesh@linkedin

Hisham-Wikipedia India

In this video i chat with Hisham, a colleague from my Colgate (he was in Unilever) and Infosys days (we were both based out of london with Infosys) about Wikipedia's plans for india.

Hisham has since then worked with the Gates foundation on AIDS initiatives and is currently with Wikipedia. here he speaks about the worlds largest free knowledge project- with 500 Million users and one that's run entirely thro volunteers, 100,000 of them... he talks about the Foundation's aims to expand their scope in India and his efforts in doing that.

In Wikimedia's Barry Newshead's (Wikimedia's chief global development officer) own words- "India is a priority for the Wikimedia movement as it has a strong and growing community of Wikimedians building the Indic and English language projects. It is a country where the Wikimedia movement can achieve our mission and learn important lessons for achieving impact elsewhere. The
engagement of Hisham will enable the Wikimedia Foundation to pilot new
initiatives aimed at accelerating the growth of the community in India"- the entire link here:

Very interesting chat. Hisham has been written about in http://bit.ly/J7g2MO and can be found on http://linkd.in/KhrZFx and on Twitter @mundol.
